In August of 2002, Director - Robert T.
Morphy and Producer - Michael W. DeForrest traveled to the
mist shrouded bayous and backwater sloughs of Louisiana’s
Honey Island Swamp (which rides along the border of Mississippi)
in order to shoot the inaugural episode of what they intend
to be an ongoing, cryptozoological documentary television
series entitled "American Monsters".

This series will deal with some of the more famous (as well
as obscure) “monsters”, which allegedly dwell
in the continental United States. The first installment of
the series details the terrifying beast known as the Honey
Island Swamp Monster, which is said to be a voracious carnivore
that stands approximately 7-feet tall, and weighs well over
350 lbs.

Traveling through the alligator infested swamps in the dead
of night and going to great lengths to get interviews with
eyewitness, skeptics and believers alike, the American Monster's
team have been able to paint a vivid portrait of this little
known and extremely dangerous animal, which was first brought
to national attention in the 1970’s, when an episode
of the Leonard Nimoy narrated series “In Search Of…”
was dedicated to the creature.
The
mystery of this enigmatic bestendures and the And the Crew
from American Monsters was there to chronicle it all.
